London’s Victoria & Albert Museum is known worldwide simply as the V&A. The Museum asked us to compile a set of guidelines to ensure its internationally recognised brand is applied consistently and correctly across a huge range of licensed merchandise. From long experience, we know that the simpler and clearer you make the rules, the more likely people are to observe them. So, we began by taking a strategic view of the brand, defining it precisely and making it easy to understand. We then considered every potential application for the iconic global brand, including advertising and promotional materials as well as merchandise.
We established a core colour palette to reflect the V&A’s heritage and global reach. We also produced complete specifications for positioning and repeating the V&A logo, and guidance on tone of voice and reproduction. We’re delighted that our applied brandcraft is helping to protect and enhance the V&A brand’s integrity and equity, now and for the future.
