Elbrus James is an executive search and recruitment support agency, specialising in the financial services industry. It takes its name from Mount Elbrus, a dormant volcano in the Caucasus Mountains on the border between Russia and Georgia, which at over 18,500 feet is Europe’s highest mountain by a wide margin. From Elbrus’s twin peaks, the intrepid climber can gaze west into Europe and east into Asia, which fits perfectly with Elbrus James’s global reach and outlook.
The company came to us with an established but rather stagnant, safe and comfortable brand, whose look and tone of voice were very much in keeping with the industry’s norms and expectations. Elbrus James wanted to refresh the brand to give it greater impact and presence, and encapsulate the principles of teamwork and shared talent at the heart of the business.
Clearly, we had to take the brand right away from the standard approach to imagery and industry-speak to make it more distinctive and aspirational: at the same time, we understood that financial services is a highly conservative sector, where being a ‘safe pair of hands’ is crucial and everyone prefers their cannons firmly tied down. Our approach was therefore evolutionary, rather than revolutionary; refining the logo, updating the tone of voice and redesigning the website to highlight the breadth of services and experience within the Elbrus James group.

"Whilst the founders of the Elbrus James Group have many years’ experience, Elbrus James is a relatively new company and so our branding and online presence is crucial in helping us to stand out from the crowd, attract talent and impress clients. Like so many other recruitment consultancies we had a very bland and generic website that ticked a lot of boxes but was dull to look at. Working with the team at Warren Creative we quickly identified some themes that were important to us such as; teamwork, integrity, quality of service and global reach and then set about finding some fun, colourful, but appropriate, imagery to reinforce the message.
